Book Condition

Book descriptions are detailed as follows:

As New:

A pristine book in like-new condition, free of any flaws or defects.

Near Fine:
A book embracing an As New condition. Appearing unread.

Very Good:
A book displaying slight signs of wear, suggesting it may have been enjoyed before. Possible small imperfections such as a previous owner's name, a price sticker, or a minor chip in the dust jacket. Numerous issues will lower the grade to Good.

Good:
A well-loved used book. Previously enjoyed many times. May show signs of wear with a weathered cover, aged text, or minor tears in the dust jacket. It is intact though, with no missing pages or dust jacket.

Fair:
A
well-loved book with all its pages intact. Some endpapers or covers may be missing, but remain completely readable.

Please Note:
When a book is Fair or Good, we will endeavor to describe any specific defects we have identified - including owner's names, bookplates, soiling, marks, foxing, creases, tears, tape, and so on. We want to ensure that you have all the information you need before making a purchase, so we make sure to detail any defects we find in Fair or Good condition books.

Dust Jackets
We describe the condition of a dust jacket separately from the book itself. We will identify if a dust jacket has been price-clipped or taped to the book.

Ex-library
We will indicate if a book is Ex-Library, meaning it will have typical library defects like stamps, card jackets, labels, and taped-on covers, etc.
